That Expedia commercial makes me tear up every time I watch it. I always really liked those two anyways, but I think from a marketing standpoint, the messaging and story is very relatable for anybody but most certainly for any LGBT person who has parents who have come to support them.
I think the way the Dad narrates his journey in acceptance is very similar to most parents. There’s a period of disappointment/grief perhaps even, but at a certain point all they really want is to see their children happy and that is what prevails at the end of the day.
I know unfortunately not everybody has parents who accept them, but ideally I think that’s the expectation we should have for any parent. That commercial definitely was a great example in my book. I hope a lot of people got to see it.
