This past October, Chicago was flooded with sports fans (althlesbians galore!) when we were treated to the arrival of the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team. The blinding light from so many gleaming Olympic Gold Medals wasn’t enough to deter the crowd of over 19,000 from poring into Toyota Park to watch our No. 1 ladies take on Germany, ranked Number 2 in the world. It was a promising start, with our gal Abby Wambach scoring within the first 2 minutes of the game! Alas, we had to settle with a very uncharacteristic draw, with the final score of 1-1. We at The L Stop were lucky enough to (gasp) get on the field and score some shots of our own…browse through these pictures by the always amazing Tina C. Escape the cold and catch the finale games in the Fan Tribute Tour, as Team USA travels and takes on Ireland in Arizona, and China in Boca Raton, FL, (games throughout the end of November and early December).

Since then, she’s taken full advantage of Chicago’s sports scene, participating in rugby, volleyball, and hockey – just to name a few. Her first love, however, is soccer. She's proud to have participated in both the 2006 and 2010 Gay Games as well as the 2009 Out Games. In addition to sports, Tina enjoys traveling (she tries to cross the atlantic at least once a year). Tina is a ‘Jackie of all trades’, so prepare for the unexpected!

The team from Germany is really strong but believe more in US Women’s Soccer Team. Nice post Tina.
