Tips from a Pro SaveOnCrafts

Whether you are planning your wedding or even just a fun, festive party, make sure to have fun décor that really makes a big statement in the room. Centerpieces and specialty lighting help set the focal point and enhance the overall theme of the party. High quality décor, at any event, makes a huge impression on guests and doesn’t have to be expensive, if you know where to shop and what you’re looking for.

As many of you know, The L Stop’s Official Launch party is coming up on this Friday and our staff is all pitching in to help plan, set up, and work the event (If you haven’t bought your tickets yet, make sure to click here to get yours today before we sell out!). Since I own an event planning company, it only makes sense that I help out with the budget, planning, and décor for the party. The launch party is being held at Reza’s Restaurant, which because of its location in the heart of Andersonville, is pretty well known. Since so many people are familiar with the restaurant, The L Stop will have to be creative with lighting and décor to transform the restaurant for the big bash.

Anytime I need great ideas for décor or lighting, I always check out one of my favorite online retailers, Save-On-Crafts. They have thousands of amazing items to enhance any party, and everything is at least 20-25% off local retailers. Save-On-Crafts has a very impressive lighting section that covers everything from LED string and branch lights to solar lanterns and fiber optics.

One of the most important things to consider when buying lights for a party is the source of power. For some parties it could be enough to go to Michael’s or Target and buy holiday string lights, attach them together, and plug in. But if you’re throwing a party somewhere and there are only a few plugs or they are already being used, this could quickly become a challenge, requiring bulky (not to mention, hard-to-hide) extension cords and power surges. Because of this common challenge, battery-operated LEDs are quickly becoming a new, and affordable, trend. Their best feature is that you can place them anywhere in a room rather than having to stick to specific areas with outlets, plus they are cool to the touch, so you won’t have to worry about anyone burning themselves or accidently overheating anything. Plus, they are incredibly energy-efficient and some last up to 12 hours.

If lighting isn’t your thing or not needed for your event, check out their vast selection of other décor, such as vases, silk and natural-touch flowers, balloons, candles, bottles, branches, chargers, etc. Save-On-Crafts also has a great SPECIALS section where you can save even more money and get really great ideas for theming your party. Celebrate with style this holiday season, without breaking the bank!

  1. I am continually shocked and dismayed by the number of LGBTQ sites or blogs that suggest shopping at Target. Did you not get the boycott memo? Or do you feel “that was so last year” it no longer applies? The company is run by a man who belongs to an organization which feels it is “it’s Christian duty” to kill homosexuals. Do you truly want to pay someone who wants you dead? Please keep the boycott alive and encourage your readers to do the same. We may be small in number but we are huge in voice.

  2. Neither this website nor this blog is suggesting or encouraging readers to shop at Target. Target is simply used as example of a common store shopped during the holidays.

The article is actually pointing out that Save-On-Crafts is a better choice than stores like Target. Save-On-Crafts is a family operated business, which has been in business since the late 60’s and has supported LGBTQ businesses, like The L Stop.
