The group listens to Debby Rijos as she explains the route to riders outside of Parlour on Clark. Parlour supplied complimentary coffee and donut holes.
On May 21st, 2011, weather.com said rain. Most of us were ready for it, rain on our ride-to-the-Chicago-History-Museum-parade. But it didn’t rain, the day was PERFECT. People were excited. Lesbians high-fived and gay boys mouthed “oh-em-gee the lesbians have arrived” to each other. The believers pointed and whispered “the rapture has started”. It was just, perfect. Here’s what happened, in a photostory…

The bikers linedup in front of Parlour. Revving up their bikes and making traffic wonder what the heck was going on.

There was one rider near the back, Baby. Baby's bike set off car alarms. I'm pretty sure I'm in love with her.

I must say I was really impressed with how well the Dykes on Bikes stuck together. Like peas in a pod.

Some neighborhoods were especially fun to ride through, Andersonville and Boystown. Why you ask? Because it's always fun to see other lesbians do "the nod".

Other neighborhoods in Chicago are awesome and most are gay-friendly here in Chicago. Still it was fun to see all kinds of reactions from bystanders.

As the Dykes on Bikes arrived it was sheer awesomeness. Sirens, music blaring, bikes revving, people cheering.

The bikers all lined up again, once more before getting up to greet friends and loved ones to head into the museum.

Posted by Vivian | May 26, 2011, 3:06 pmLooks like so much fun! Does anyone have any information on any riding groups these gals may belong to? I ride solo and would love to ride in a group once in a while.
Thanks
