  1. I think you need to think about those of us who are single and in our 60s and actively solicit for those years. There are many of us who would still like to meet singles.

  2. Hi Ellen – we will absolutely do what we can to find events to fit your needs. As a matter of fact, we will start by posting more SAGE events. This is a program at the Center on Halsted in Boystown. They do have many events coming up and we’ll make sure to include them in our list. Thank you.

  7. Hey Moi! We have not forgotten about your category! This weekend you should check out the Out In Chicago preview opening, and A night of Lesbian Laughs, just to name a few. Also, next month is Pride month, and there are a TON of events coming up that are non-bar related, and mixers for business professionals. I think you will have a good amount of events to choose from. :)

@Tay – Events do come up now and then for 18+ crowds. We’ll do what we can to figure out a way to find these events easier on our Events page.

@Erin – Yes! We will have an event on Valentine’s Day. Details coming soon!

  29. For those of you looking for something to do tonight…
Saturday night karaoke is about to kick off. Come in and get ready to sing… Or at the least be amused by those trying to sing. Last week we had some AMAZING talent and the energy in the room was incredible! Best of all it’s FREE! We are located at 440 N State (the corner of State and Illinois). Downtown is conveniently located 1 blocks south of the Grand Red Line station. When you walk in ask for Karaoke and the door guy will point you in the right direction (lower level to the left). All the fun starts at 10 and goes until 2:15 am. It usually starts to get busy by 11 so early arrival is recommended. Tonight we have $8 Vodka Redbull and $5 Jameson shots.

    Posted by Sarah | July 21, 2012, 5:25 pm
  30. So it’s another weekly installment of downtown’s best karaoke night. We are bringing you some really great talent, drunk talent, and really BAD talent. So why not stop in have a drink and a laugh or maybe be inspired by an amazing singer. We are located at 440 State (corner of State and Illinois) and conveniently 1 block south of the Grand Red Line station. The awesomeness starts at 10:30pm and goes until 2:30am. Our drink specials include $8 vodka Redbull and $5 Jameson shots.

  36. Karaoke- noun /karōk/

A form of entertainment, offered typically by bars and clubs, in which really drunk people take turns singing popular songs (probably badly) over prerecorded backing tracks.

So it’s another weekly installment of downtowns best karaoke night. We are bringing you some really GREAT talent, drunk talent, and really BAD talent. So why not stop in have a drink and a laugh or maybe be inspired by an amazing singer. Our address is 440 N State St. (corner of State and Illinois) which is conveniently located 1 block south of the Grand Red Line station.

We are located blocks from where Broadway in Chicago takes place… Which is why on a weekly basis we have members of different shows stopping in to sing. Last week we had cast members from The Book of Mormon stop in… Will they stop in again this week? Only one way to find out!

The awesomeness starts at 10:00pm and goes until 2:15am. Our drink specials include $8 vodka Redbull, $7 Stoli drinks, $6 Well cocktails, and $5 Jameson shots. AND AS ALWAYS NO COVER!

  40. I tried to go to the Queer Book Club this week and it was closed. I walked them one before the event to RSVP and once right before to confirm and received no response. The book was great but was a bit annoyed by the fact I went all the way there and there was no book club.

Would really appreciate more info on this, thanks.

  46. For a city so big, I am always surprised to find the lesbian options so limited. This webpage can be summarized here: latina lesbian dance club, lesbian dance club, book club, bi-help, learning to paint while tipsy, a run, et al. Someone asked where are all of the things to do for a single 60 year old, but I will raise the board this question: what do you do if you’re a normal 24 year old? None of these things interest me, but certainly these can’t be all of the options for the third biggest city in the US? Are there really only 2-3 lesbian bars? Maybe I am simply expecting too much, but I expected Chicago to have more options than Ohio, and so far, I’m shocked to see it doesn’t.

  47. Hi Sara – I’m sorry you feel this way. What kind of a things would you like to see? Perhaps you can help us figure out what’s missing? Thanks for your feedback.

    Posted by Gloria | June 6, 2013, 11:21 am
  49. Hey! There’s a Pride Kickoff Party I’m helping to promote on the 20th. Sara and others in her age range may be interested in attending.

    Here’s the link

It’s hosted by the cast of LGBT web-series The Industry.

Thanks for the support and I hope to see ALL of you guys there!!

  50. I’m with Sara.

Unless one is into bar culture, a book group, or prepared to play parking roulette in what has become dangerous Boys Town, there is little of interest for adult with sophisticated tastes.
