Artist, Performer and Ally Lisa Koziol-Ellis (AKA “Foxy Goat”) Found Murdered

Lisa Koziol-Ellis, known to most as “Foxy Goat”, was murdered early Saturday morning. The Coroner’s report states that she died from multiple stab wounds, and there are no suspects at this time. Police are unsure if Lisa was targeted specifically, or if her murder was random. Friends, fans and family are heartbroken over this tragic loss.

Lisa’s husband found her upon returning home from his night shift at work. The couple had lived in their new Elgin townhouse for only 3 days after moving from Chicago. Friends and family want to do everything possible to bring her murderer to justice. A reward fund has been created to encourage someone to come forward with information that will lead the Elgin Police Department to the arrest and conviction of Lisa’s killer.

A talented artist and jewelry maker, Lisa was a regular attendee and occasional host of the Queer Burlesque & Variety Show: Ties & Tassels in Chicago.  She was a strong ally of the GBLTQAI community. She was a huge supporter of the burlesque and performance community in Chicago, and became very close friends with performers across the city. Her Etsy shop brought her friends and fans from across the nation. She was an amazing, giving and genuine soul.

Donations of any amount are vitally needed; please go to information and enter Lisa Koziol-Ellis in the search window.

  2. I first heard about this in the chicago Tribune. as a fellow artist, i was sadden to read about this. i personally never met or knew lisa, but if I did, the sadness I feel would be tenfold. i was fortunate enough to have met people who knew her and told me a lot about her. i myself lost my daughter a year after lisa left. the pain and grief I experienced at that time was unbearable. then, for some odd reason, i focused a lot on lisa. i celebrated her memory by creating art of my own in her image. i even made a life size sculpture of her minus tattoos. lisa i believe was there to help me in my personal loss. and as far as I’m concerned, she is my friend and will live forever. i hope to one day meet her when I leave this world.
