Halsted Market Days Music to Check Out

When I tell you that I just flipped out in excitement over the realization that Sheena Easton is playing Market Days this year, it is no exaggeration. As it turns out, this year’s music lineup features some outstanding blasts from the past along with some sensational newcomers and great cover bands. Here’s a brief glimpse at some of the non-headlining acts I’d recommend checking out!

Karmin

Given the amount of press these two have gotten recently, I’m kind of surprised they aren’t headliners! If you’re looking for a party and some fun, I have no doubt the YouTube sensations will be bringing it at 7:15p Sunday at the North Stage (Rivers Casino).

Kimi Hayes

Those of you who have been in Chicago for a while will most likely remember Kimi from her days in the awesome cover band, Catfight. She’s on her own now and will be playing original music at 3:30p on Sunday at the Belmont Stage. Check out some of her tunes at her website.

Don’t Speak

It’s a great year to dust off your old No Doubt albums because not only is the band putting out a new one later this year, but you can sing along with Don’t Speak as they cover all of No Doubt’s greatest hits on Sunday at 7:30p at the Belmont Stage.

There are, of course, other great bands to check out – but I’m interested in hearing who you’re most excited to see. Let us know in the comments and make sure you stop by The L Stop booth to say hello over the weekend! Have a fantastic Market Days weekend!

About Mia

Mia can probably call herself a professional when it comes to blogging, music listening, whiskey drinking, French bulldog cuddling and sarcasm. She writes two weekly music columns for After Ellen and is psyched to be part of The L Stop and have the opportunity to write for fellow Chicagoans. Mia loves almost nothing more than dancing with old people at weddings and bar mitzvahs. You can find more of her randomness at ChubbyJones.com
