Paddy Long’s knows bacon. At Paddy’s – bacon isn’t a side dish; it’s the main course, and desert!!!!
I went in to Paddy Long’s for the bacon and beer tasting. I’m sure most people would think “NO WAY!” But I couldn’t wait to see what they had in store for me. They were offering 5 cuts of bacon and 5 cuts of beer – how can a girl say no??
The bacon cuts are modest so they do not over whelm. I would definitely not recommend going in with an empty stomach. Same goes for the beer tastings. Let’s not get carried away people! After 5 pints of beer a sweet little girl like me would be ready for bed. Paddy Long’s does the thinking for you and gives you a solid 3 ounces of beer for the tasting.
The pairings vary seasonally. My favorite piece of bacon was the brown sugar glazed bacon. It was phenomenal. Normally I go to a new establishment and taste a few different options from the menu so I know what to write about. But I found myself eating my friends’ bacon off her plate. (I hope you didn’t mind Jenise.) You can order the bacon board and do your own tasting. They have over 20 beers on draft! If you are not a beer drinker they have a full bar with amazing bartenders.
I did go back a few weeks later and tried the Guinness Beef Stew. It was really very good – hearty, delicious, and I would say it would hit the spot even on a warm day.
Just for fun I have to tell you about the Bacon Bomb Challenge. Brace yourselves!!! For those of you that have the stomach to inhale 5 pounds of meat in less than 45 minutes The Bacon Bomb is your dream come true!!! It is five pounds of ground sausage, pork and beef mixed with spices and wrapped in a weave of brown sugar bacon, and then slow cooked on a pig roaster. It’s serves about 8 people – so – if you go for the challenge please message me and tell me how it went!
If you love bacon even half as much as I do – take a trip over to Paddy Long’s – you will be thanking me later!!!
