If you were anything like me, as a kid, you spent your summer watching the Cubs with your grandparents or brothers and sisters on WGN. I used to think that the people who got to throw out the first pitch were the luckiest people to ever live. To walk in front of 40,000+ screaming fans and throw the ball to the Cubs catcher seemed like something that was for famous actors or political figures. But, this summer IT COULD BE YOU!!!
This August 26th the gays are taking over Wrigley Field to celebrate Out at Wrigley! Out At Wrigley is the most attended LGBT event in professional sports. It has only 500 seats but there’s no more visible a place than the NEW right field and the adjacent bleacher section. Best yet, this game is going to be shown on Fox so be sure to bring a sign to say hi to grandma.
So, how does one go about “living the dream”? If you want to sing the national anthem or throw out the first pitch you’re gonna have to fight for it!
The guys from MTM who make Out at Wrigley a reality have a host of dates that will let you compete. And here’s how you do it:
To sing the National Anthem you need to get to one of the following location and sing your heart out to your favorite karaoke songs! Here’s a tip…to be sure they have the song or back up song you want to sing I would bring a copy of the karaoke version with you!

For the finals you have to sing God Bless America AND The National Anthem acapella!!!
And for my athletically inclined ladies:
All you have to do is attend one of the following locations and… Stand 15-20 feet from target which has areas that score you different point values. You throw three balls per round and after three rounds the top three scores advance to the finals!!! All sign-ups will be at noon…don’t be late!

So go to www.outatwrigley.com for the details and buy your tickets. Bleacher seats are $50 and the VIP all inclusive new right field party deck is only $130.
So, dust off your jersey, and start getting those vocal chords and pitching arms in shape! Dust of your cargo shorts and prep your best tank top because on Saturday, August 26th @ 1:20 pm the LGBT community is going to be Out At Wrigley and you are going to want to look good for the camera.
