I almost don’t want to review Marble because I had hopes that it would continue to be my little secret. I thought places with real food and drink specials were on their way to extinction in this town!

Let’s just say “Hats off” to one of the original trail blazers in the “Cheap Eats” and great drinks era. Marble is the new edition of the old Cleo’s which was located on Chicago Ave. Someone originally told me about Marble because of the amazing 10cent wing deal on Thursdays. (This also happened to be one of Cleo’s best food specials).

I walked in on a Wednesday Night, after a long day of work dying for some food and a drink. My friends were meeting me in the out door patio section. As I entered I was greeted by a gentleman asking for my ID – (After 8pm it is strictly 21 and over).

We walked in to greet our friends who happened to be sitting in the back of the patio with cigarettes lit. (Cue the Screeching Car!!!!) – Yes – the patio is divided into two sections, smoking and non smoking. My heart fluttered with excitement. The patio was amazing – so cute and well maintained with flowers and lots of greenery everywhere. It felt almost like sitting in a friend’s yard knocking back a cold one.

We were greeted promptly by an amazing server named Lindsay. Her bubbly attitude and attention to detail was the icing on the cake with our Marble experience. Lindsay explained they had half off burgers on Wednesdays (does not include fries $1 more). You can order a Pub Burger for $2.50, beef or vegetarian (includes lettuce, onion and tomato). The veggie Pub burger is rice based patty. I opted for the special – getting a Pub Beef Burger with grilled onions, avocado, cheddar cheese and bacon. (I decided to skip on the mayo because I’m watching my figure). This brought my food bill to $5 and in all honestly – it was so well worth it. The burger was cooked to perfection as well as the bacon. We also shared their homemade avocado and garlic hummus with soft pita chips. Absolutely phenomenal.

Marble also offers amazing choices of Craft beers. From Daisy Cutter, Gumball head, Alpha King, Magic Hat #9. Every beer is fairly priced and quite delicious!

I’m happy Logan Square has a place like this in the neighborhood. I don’t think the word dive, or lounge can define this place. This is a place of character where the people and food stand on their own and excellent service is provided. This is a place where you can catch a game or catch up with an old friend. With football season around the corner and hockey coming soon I can definitely say you can find a home with Marble, and great hospitality with Lindsay.

About Nina

Nina is a Chicago native, of Puerto Rican decent. Four years ago she co founded Doll House, which is a weekly Lesbian night in Chicago. Nina is now running Doll House with a team of twelve people, and swears it’s been the best four years of her life. After 18 years of arroz con gandules, Nina decided to take on the city to see what the neighborhoods have to offer. Some people eat to live, and although she hates to admit it, she lives to eat. Spoiling herself with one, two…OK maybe four or five nights out a week. When Nina is not indulging in Chicago eats, you can find her with a colorbrush in her hand in a high end salon making Chicago more beautiful every day.

  2. Great review! Be sure to look out for a dark-skinned, baret-wearing, Belizean named Boschi! Great guy and will drink you under the table!
